Hi Tricia and Ladies

We are a couple based in Sydenham - South East London who are looking to join the adoption process within the next 6 months to 1 year. We are still in the throws of wedding planning for our civil partnership ceremony next year!

We attended the 'Alternative Families' seminar day in Central London last Saturday (23rd October) and we are very excited about the prospect of starting a family via adoption. We were so deeply encouraged to meet other mums and dads who were either contemplating starting a family or adding to their existing families. Facilities like this site are excellent sources of information and interaction and reassure us that we are not alone in this venture!

We are obviously in the very early stages of the process, but would be very interested in meeting with some mums who have children already (whether via adoption or any other means) just for a social chat in the local area. Happy to provide email addresses/telephone numbers via this site.

We'd also like to know whether the monthly meetings are held exclusively for mothers, or whether these are open for women in the early stages of family planning.
